Shopping for Christening Gowns and Flower Girl Dresses
Dressing the flower girl can be one of the very fun parts of planning the wedding. The little girls look so cute in the flower girl dresses; it can be hard to choose the perfect one. For the perfect wedding party look, consider a dress very similar to the bride’s dress or choose one in the same color as the bridesmaid’s, either way she will look wonderful. Flower girl dresses should not be too expensive, generally with accessories and everything you can ring in a total of around $100 for it all. With careful shopping, you might be able to spend less.
Dressing up the baby for the christening is also a joyous occasion. The babies always look so beautiful in their christening gowns, with the little shoes and accessories that are so tiny. Like flower girl dresses, christening gowns are not too expensive. Most range from $25 and up depending on the designer and how elaborate the gowns are. Custom-made christening gowns will usually run more than the already made gowns but since these gowns are usually handed down through the family, the expense may be well worth it.
A Generation Gap in Television
In the 70s and 80s, a fair portion of the TV-watching American population would probably know a MASH shirt when they saw it, regardless of whether the show’s title, its logo, or the face of its main characters made an appearance. Nowadays, you would be hard pressed to find a single soul under the age of 30 who would pick up on any understated nod to the television show whose finale held the record for the most viewers for 27 years. It is one solid reason that idea of remakes has become so popular in Hollywood these days, since one of its functions has been to bring classic pop culture hits to a fresh audience. The film industry continues to crank out steady stream of original films, sure, but it is clear that we are on a hell of a remake kick, and Hollywood has taken quite a bit of criticism for it. Usually film adaptations of comics books, video games, and novels are received a little better than movies that simply re-pitch an old favorite, but there are plenty of serious comic book and television fans out there who are not very happy about Hollywood’s attempts at making their favorite characters more accessible to an audience only looking for a two-hour movie experience. Who knows, someday even your Eastbound and Down t shirts might start looking archaic enough that they’ll redo the whole thing.
Shopping for Warm Pajamas
It’s winter now, which means that warmer clothes are in the stores now. Sweaters, flannels, gloves and scarves are all common. Pajamas are warmer than in the summer months, and, surprisingly, some stores are starting to stock adult footed pajamas. It’s a funny thing to see hanging on the racks in stores, footie pajamas in adult sizes, because as a general rule you outgrow them after the age of about eight. However, the need for warm, comfortable pajamas doesn’t change as we age, and it can be really fun to be able to wear footies again.
Not only can you wear adult sized footie jammies, but you can also match your kids. Just like you can buy “Mommy and Me” matching nightgown sets, you can also buy adult pajamas that have matching baby pajamas that sell with them. Some have feet, some don’t, but they are warm and fuzzy and perfect for snuggling up together in them. The only problem is that you can only get them in polyester, as per governmental guidelines regarding fire retardant materials that have to be used to make sleeping garments for babies and children. Fortunately, after a few washings the fabric gets much softer.
